On May 22, 2011 the founder of Happy Science, Master Ryuho Okawa, visited Hong Kong, holding a lecture before an audience of about 1,300 people. There was a question and answer session with the audience in the latter half of the program. The first person said that there was an increasing number of people who fear the Mayan prophecy that the world will end in 2012 and asked if something would happen. This prophecy has been a popular topic of conversation worldwide since about 2009, and a search for “Mayan calendar 2012? on the Internet will yield several million hits. In response to this question, Master Okawa emphatically replied that as long as Happy Science was active, there would not be a problem.
