My wife and I moved to our current address 26 months ago. My first job in the house was to make one of the rooms an office, but knowing there was plenty to do in the house put off getting an internet connection until later, only using the computer for general use which had no interest for my wife so she hardly ever came into the office. Then at last I got an internet connection and she came in more often, but only when I was on the computer with her.
A few evenings ago she was emailing our son in America and I left the room for just a minute. When I came back the lamp on the other side of the room was on. This is a lamp that you only have to touch to make it come on, touch again to make brighter, touch again for brighter still, touch again for off. I asked her why she had turned it on, as the ceiling light was on and she had to leave her chair to touch it. She said she hadn't moved, the second I had left the room the lamp had flickered on/off a few times then stayed on permanently.
We have had that lamp for years, since long before we moved, and in all that time it has never turned itself on, and hasn't since that evening. It seems amazing to us that it chose the first time my wife was alone in the room to do so.
My wife is the eldest of six and was the closest of all of them to their Dad. Her biggest regret is that he died a few months before we moved and he never got to see our new home. She likes to think it was him showing her that he was present. As for me, massive coincidence or paranormal experience I just don't know, but I can't explain it.
